Yeah, you want to be cool and go to an art museum — but how do you do it without looking like a rube?

The program is three Saturday art-education programs, designed to help audiences appreciate modern art.

"This is a great chance for anyone who wants to walk into a museum or gallery with confidence, impress their friends with their ability to make sense of contemporary art, or just look darn good standing around an exhibition opening," said UMOCA's executive director, Adam Price, in a statement.

Jared Steffensen, UMOCA's director of education, said the program gives adult musuemgoers "the tools necessary to respond to a work of art based on what they see. Also, it is a way to slow down the art savvy viewer, to start over, before judging the work."

Sessions run Sept. 22 and 29 at UMOCA, 20 S. West Temple, in Salt Lake City, and Oct. 6 in Provo.

Registration for the course is $75, or $60 for UMOCA members, and includes participation in all three classes. Space is limited. Go to UMOCA's website for details.
