Unified Police Department officers will be setting up a drunken-driving checkpoint in Taylorsville beginning the night of Oct. 12.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said drivers will be checked for signs of being intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs beginning 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12 and running through 2:30 a.m. Oct. 13.

The checkpoint will be at 2600 W. 5400 South in Taylorsville.

Law enforcement is required by law to publish notice of DUI checkpoints, Hoyal explained.
