Re "Romney: 47% of Americans 'believe they are victims,' 'dependant on government'" (Tribune, Sept. 18):

After listening to Gov. Mitt Romney's characterization of 47 percent of Americans, I hearken back to a favorite Wizard of Id comic strip where the king is told, "Sire! The peasants are revolting!" And the king replies, "You can say that again."

Anyone who believes that Republicans are supportive of needy Americans need only listen to Romney's criticism of those of us who are not members of the richest 1 percent.
