Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Ore., has hired Steve Sierra as its new market manager for Arizona and Utah. He will be responsible for managing sales efforts and distributor relationships in the two states. Sierra brings several years of management and sales experience in the Phoenix area to his new position, most recently working for a large beverage distributor.

The Park City-based law firm of Maschoff, Gilmore & Israelsen has announced that attorneys Kirk R. Harris and Mark W. Ford have joined the firm. Harris is an experienced litigation attorney with an extensive background in metallurgical engineering, having worked with one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in the country. Ford joined the firm as a senior associate. He specializes in intellectual property.

Security Service Investment Group has announced that Elliott Gee has joined the credit union as a senior financial consultant. In his new position, Gee will be responsible for assisting members in the Utah area with wealth management, financial planning, risk management, asset allocation, retirement planning and portfolio management.

Richter7, a Salt Lake City-based advertising and public relations agency, has hired Scott Konopasek as an assistant media planner. Before joining Richter7 full-time, Konopasek was an intern at the firm. He attended Brigham Young University with an emphasis in advertising. Jeremy Anderson has been hired as a web developer. He has more than 15 years of experience in the media industry, including six years of experience as a web developer. He previously worked as a media specialist and a freelance web developer.

Stanley Consultants engineers Ahmad Salah and Kurt Miller received a first place award for the presentation of a desktop, mobile and web application they created using a suite of software developed by the Environmental Systems Research Institute. Their winning application was titled "GCIMS: A Multimedia GIS Application for Construction Management." They presented their application at the User Software Application Fair during the 2012 ESRI Annual International User Conference in San Diego.

Peter Baker has been named food and beverage director at Snowbasin Resort. He joined the Ogden Valley resort from Grand Targhee Resort in Wyoming, where he was beverage, dining and entertainment director. He previously worked in similar positions at the Tamarack Resort in Idaho and the Kirkwood Resort in northern California.

The Salt Lake City law offices of Snell & Wilmer has announced that Brock Worthen has joined the firm as an associate in its bankruptcy and litigation groups. He previously was with the Utah-based law firm of Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough.

C.R. England, a Salt Lake City-based trucking company, has announce the addition of a number of new employees to its corporate operations. Mitch Whetman has been hired as a DOT compliance manager. Whetman previously worked as a DOT manager in the glass industry. Kristi Gray has joined the training department as a phase one training coordinator. Gray previously worked in management and customer service in the retail and marketing industries. Estrella Fetzer and Vivian Rimando have joined as senior driver recruiters. Fetzer previously worked in sales and customer service. Rimando previously worked in customer service for the finance and banking industry. Kristy Esposito has been hired as a junior driver recruiter. Esposito previously worked in human resources in the health care industry. Martha Whitney has joined as a drug and alcohol safety coordinator. Whitney previously worked in the hospitality industry and is a graduate of the University of Utah. Sharon Bair has joined as an assistant controller. Bair previously worked as a controller and is a graduate from the University of Phoenix. Kristy Thurston has joined as an account manager. Thurston previously worked as an account manager for a finance company. Darrin Sheppard has joined as an advancement coordinator. Sheppard previously worked as a production manager for an entertainment company.
