Two people were hospitalized after a semitrailer truck and an SUV collided Tuesday in Layton.
A teenage boy was driving an SUV with a utility trailer south on U.S. Highway 89 about 7:30 p.m. when he made a left turn onto Cherry Lane, said Layton police Sgt. Jeff Roderick. He apparently turned in front of a semitrailer truck, which broadsided the SUV and tipped over.
The driver of the SUV was in and out of consciousness when responders arrived; he was taken to an Ogden hospital, where he was expected to survive. A passenger's leg was pinned inside the semitrailer truck and suffered cuts; the passenger also was expected to survive, Roderick said.
