The story "Utah's 1st District race about direction: right, left or forward?" (Tribune, Sept. 26) failed to mention that Rep. Rob Bishop did not respond to a request by the Utah League of Woman Voters to answer questions for its 2012 Voters' Guide.

Given that Bishop used to be a high school teacher and is currently a member of Congress, I expected a thoughtful answer to this question: "Do you believe that all children regardless of their economic status should have access to quality education? If so, what can Congress do to reach this goal?"

As the League reported in its guide: "No response to the question received from the candidate." Bishop didn't answer a single question.

In contrast, Donna McAleer, his opponent, answered every question.
