Food for thought

As I read about the dangerous increase in the obesity rate in our state and country, and as I witness so many people struggling with their rudimentary physical day-to-day activities who are literally joint- and heart-destroying time bombs, I think of the sound life-saving advice of my wise 89-year-old father. He always told his kids, "Eat to live. Don't live to eat."

This prudent advice, among other lifestyle changes, could help save Medicare for future enrollees.
