Provo — Outside hitter Jennifer Hamson, who led BYU to an 11-1 record in September, was named the West Coast Conference's co-volleyball player of the month, the league announced Thursday. Hamson, a junior, averaged 3.67 kills per match during the 12 matches. She finished with 15 kills and 11 digs in a victory over Portland State and ranks 22nd nationally in average points per game (4.93). Loyola-Marymount's Kathleen Luft shared player of the month honors with Hamson. BYU plays the Lions Thursday night in Los Angeles.
