Choose a fork

Yogi Berra famously said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it." On Nov. 6, we voters decide which fork to take. Our votes are so important we should forget politics and concentrate on which candidates are better qualified.

Our county is in trouble: massive debt, out-of-control spending, sluggish economy, too few jobs — signs of bad leadership, past and present, in both parties.

We voters mistakenly allowed ourselves to be persuaded by unfounded negative rhetoric, excuses and empty promises. We can't afford to do that this time.

Do a little research. Which candidates have proven records of success, leadership and promise-keeping? We can get out of this mess by voting smart.
