A Taylorsville man who had sex with a 13-year-old girl and allegedly recorded the act on his cellphone has been sentenced to prison.

Corey James Eskelson, 23, pleaded guilty earlier this year to a first-degree felony count of attempted rape of a child. As part of his plea deal, five other felony charges were dropped.

Third District Judge Mark Kouris sentenced Eskelson earlier this month to three years to life in prison.

According to a police report filed at the time of Eskelson's arrest, the man admitted to having sex with the child three times in an apartment near 3900 South and 1100 West, filming it twice.
