Using an array of post moves and hitting open jumpshots, Jordan Loveridge scored 17 points and had five rebounds in Utah's intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday night.
Loveridge hit a 3-pointer on the first possession of the game and scored 15 points in the first 20 minutes. Playing the power forward spot, the freshman from West Jordan led the black team in scoring and rebounding, as the white team took home a 65-62 win in four overtimes.
"I just wanted to play well in my all-around game," Loveridge said. "I thought I did some things well, and I thought I could've improved on some things."
Before a crowd of a few hundred at the Huntsman Center, Loveridge was arguably the best player on the floor in large stretches.
His ability to shoot caused matchup problems at the power forward position, as well as his quickness and toughness in the paint.
Loveridge has played well in practice for the last two weeks, and is projected to start at power forward. He is the first signature recruit of the Larry Krystkowiak era, a top-100 player in high school.
