Salt Lake City police say what began as a robbery turned into a shootout that injured a suspect Tuesday in Sugar House.
One of perhaps four robbers went to a hospital with a bullet wound, said Salt Lake City police Lt. Bryce Johnson. Residents of the apartment near 2300 S. Green St., where the shooting occurred, were not injured.
About 3 p.m., a man, woman and child inside the apartment heard a knock. Johnson said they went to the door and saw someone they knew, opened the door and saw three other people waiting for them, at least some of whom had guns.
