I agree with Bruce Willden in "Raspy voice" (Forum, Oct. 31). There comes a time when offensive anti-smoking TV ads lose their meaning and are no longer effective.
This particular ad with "that poor sick woman with the raspy voice" is offensive to me and, I assume, to many other smokers and non-smokers, and I'm tired of seeing it on TV. I don't understand why those ads about the smoker with throat cancer continue to air.
With these ads running over and over, someone must be making a lot of money.
