AAA Utah sent one of its flat-bed tow trucks out on Tuesday loaded down with turkeys instead of cars.

The yellow truck delivered 136 turkeys to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church kitchen and the Salvation Army, where they will be prepared to feed the hungry on Thanksgiving.

AAA Utah has been buying turkeys and delivering them to nonprofit organizations in the state for the past 17 years, said Rolayne Fairclough, spokeswoman for the travel services company.

The Utah effort was part of a regional initiative that saw AAA deliver more than 10 tons of turkeys to 26 nonprofit organizations in northern California, Nevada and Utah.
