Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is an American hero of iconic stature. However, since losing the 2008 presidential election, he has worn the face of a sore loser. He has made only negative comments on the actions of the Obama administration.

Unfortunately, his recent "cover-up conspiracy" remarks about the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya, made without attending hearings to get factual data, have reduced him to the role of an angry old man who has become almost irrelevant.

What a sad passing of a formerly strong political voice.
