Three people remained hospitalized Friday after a head-on Thanksgiving Day crash in Davis County.

The accident occurred about 3:30 a.m. when a northbound white pickup truck driving in the wrong lane collided with a black Toyota Rav4 that was headed southbound on Legacy Parkway near Farmington.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers had been looking for the pickup as other motorists had reported seeing the truck on the wrong side of the road a few minutes before the crash, UHP spokesman Joe Dougherty said.

All three people involved in the crash were initially taken by medical helicopter to area hospitals in critical condition, Dougherty said.

On Friday, pickup driver Mark Horne, 25, of Lehi, and Toyota driver Nicole Smith, 29, of Syracuse, had improved and their conditions stabilized, Dougherty said.

Horne's passenger, whom police have not yet identified, remained in critical condition, but is expected to survive, Dougherty said.

The crash remains under investigation. Troopers believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident and reported smelling alcohol in the pickup, Dougherty said.
