New Orleans • The Jazz should have no difficulty remembering their last trip to New Orleans.
It's been less than three weeks since the franchise visited the birthplace of the Jazz and lost 88-86 after a defensive breakdown allowed guard Greivis Vasquez to score the go-ahead basket with 1 second remaining.
"We thought we let one get away," Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin said. "But you got to give these guys credit, man, they're going to play hard. They know who they are. They execute their defense extremely well."
Corbin said the Jazz (8-7) let the Hornets (4-8) control the tempo and that the slow pace favored New Orleans.
"We didn't take advantage of opportunities to get down the floor quickly, get easy baskets and then get into our half-court sets," he said.
The Hornets continue to be without Anthony Davis. The No. 1 overall pick in June's draft missed two games after suffering a concussion against the Jazz and has missed five more with an ankle injury.
The Jazz may or may not have point guard Mo Williams and small forward DeMarre Carroll. Williams has missed the last two games with a right foot injury, while Carroll officially is listed with a bruised left shoulder. He said he was hit from behind during Monday's win over Denver at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Jazz are just 2-7 in games away from Salt Lake City.
