Plans for tonight: Getting Kinky at the State Room

• Ska-punk kings The Aquabats (currently filming a children's show here in Salt Lake City) performs at The Depot, 400 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Step Forward Lads, Two and a Half White Guys. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $22 for under-21, $20 for over-21, at Smith's Tix.

• Emo-pop band The Dangerous Summer performs at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening act: Young London. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $12, at Smith's Tix.

• Folk-rock/bluegrass band The Clumsy Lovers performs at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $8, at 24Tix.

• Author, songwriter and Texas legend Kinky Friedman brings his "BiPolar Tour: A Fact Finding Mission" to The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $25, at the venue's website.
