Caught up with Arizona Western coach Tom Minnick for a brief rundown of his linebacker, d'Vante Henry, who is one of the top recruits the Utes would love to have for their 2013 class. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Henry has drawn attention from Oregon State, Oregon and numerous other schools, Minnick said. "It's been crazy around here," he said. "West Virginia, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Kansas State are all talking to him." The Utes remain in the mix after Henry's visit went well, Minnick said. Henry sounds like just the kind of athletic guy the Utes need to help them at a spot that remains relatively inexperienced due to injuries. Reshawn Hooker, Jacoby Hale, Jason Whittingham, V.J. Fehoko and LT Filiaga are among the young players who saw time at the linebacking position. Adding a more experienced player like Henry would help fill Utah's need for "impact players." It sounds like Henry might fit the bill. "He is a good football player who has that SEC speed," Minnick said. "He hurdled our outfield fence that is about five feet one day just screwing around. He is really athletic." - Lya Wodraska
