UPD plans weekend DUI checkpoint in Midvale

The Unified Police Department will being operating a checkpoint in Midvale this weekend to snag intoxicated drivers.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the checkpoint, at 144 West and 7200 South, will be effective beginning 9:30 p.m. Friday through 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

"Our focus with the holidays coming up is to keep people safe on the roads and get drunk drivers off the roads," he said.
