I can see why Brenneck Clayton doesn't understand the need for raising tax rates on the wealthy ("Stealing from the rich," Forum, Dec. 16): He is living in that other world that refuses to accept things as they are.

In referring to the successful and wealthy, he refers to "men" no fewer than seven times. There's no recognition — or even thought — of a woman possibly becoming successful and wealthy in his world. Sad.
