U.S. stock markets • Close early, at 11 a.m. MDT, for Christmas Eve.


Stock and bond markets • Closed for Christmas Day.


Standard & Poor's • S&P/Case-Shiller index of home prices for October


Labor Department • Weekly jobless claims;

Freddie Mac • Weekly mortgage rates

Commerce Department • New home sales for November

Conference Board • Consumer Confidence Index for December


National Association of Realtors • Pending home sales index for November
