Salt Lake City police arrested a 24-year-old homeless man after he allegedly made repeated threats to 911 dispatchers.
Police say the man was nabbed on the street near 550 West and 300 South about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday after the two calls were traced to his cell phone via Facebook. The man had allegedly referred to the Greyhound Bus Depot "blowing up" during one of the calls. In the other call, he allegedly remarked, "You're gonna die, ya'll are gonna blow up."
Det. Carlie Marston said police questioned the man and determined there was no actual danger involved in the threats.
However, the man still was booked into Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of making terroristic threats, a second-degree felony; class B misdemeanor counts of carrying of an illegal concealed weapon (a homemade knife), possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and emergency telephone abuse; and two unrelated, drug-related arrest warrants.
