More legislation restricting ownership of firearms by the general populace does not address the problem of murderous psychopaths walking free on our streets. Restricting guns will only create more defenseless victims.

The only effective response to criminal assault is an armed and overwhelming counter-assault. It is despicable that the politicos are exploiting the unspeakable horror and tragedy of Newtown, Conn., to further their old and weary anti-gun agenda.

We need individuals empowered to protect themselves and their loved ones. We should look hard at the movie and video game industry, which is little more than training and desensitizing for incipient societal monsters.
