The Moab Music Festival just announced the appointment of Laura Doser Brown as its new Executive Director.

Brown previously served as executive director of the Lawton Symphony Orchestra, and worked in marketing with the Colorado Springs and Dubuque Symphonies. Brown also worked with the fundraising consultant group, Elisabeth Galley and Associates, and served as public programs director at The Western Museum of Mining & Industry. Brown is active as a performer and serves as second oboist in the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Musicology and Criticism at the University of California, Davis.

She is a native of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Brown replaces Andrew Yarosh, who was executive director from 2007 to 2012. Yarosh will be returning to Colorado to fulfill family obligations and revitalize Summit Non-Profit Resources, his consulting firm. The Moab Music Festival's 21st season runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 9, 2013.
