The atmosphere and somewhat muted fanbase at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum has been a popular discussion on social media and on Utah State's fan website, USUfans.com.

A number of supporters and student planned to jolt the crowd — not with the ever popular "White-out" or "Black-out" but with a compelling, if neck-scratching, celebration of facial hair.

The Aggies "Beardout," if it lives up to the hype, could feature hundreds of fans with scraggly and rugged beards, and many more with fake beards, or drawn-on Honest Abes.

The celebration appears to be, in part, inspired by Preston Medlin's somewhat roguish look on the court this season. Fans will note as well that traditions such as Wild Bill have also brought beards to the forefront of the Aggies' faithful.

I'll be updating this post as I see more beards and fans celebrating them. Stay tuned.
