JD Machine of Ogden was recently recognized as the Utah Manufacturers Association's "Manufacturer of the Year" in the 50 to 200 employee category.

The UMA said JD Machine demonstrates expertise and outstanding business practices in their industry as well as in the general business community.

JD Machine President Matt Wardle said in a statement that the award "is a tribute to the hard work of our people. We are continually striving for improvement, and are expanding to better serve our customers."

Founded in 1979 in Weber County, JD Machine is a manufacturer of high-value machined parts, sheet metal components and complex assemblies. It listed revenue of $24 million in 2011. It serves customers in the military, health care, manufacturing, aerospace and energy arenas.
