Civics Central: Groundwater in Bountiful, pay day loans in Ogden

Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Bountiful City Council » Will consider a proposal for monitoring groundwater at the landfill on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 7 p.m., 790 S. 100 East, Bountiful. View the Bountiful agenda.

Cottonwood Heights City Council • Will consider amending council district boundaries, also changes to the Residential Office zone with new section on signage; Tuesday, Jan. 22, 7 p.m., Suite 300 of City Offices at 1265 E. Fort Union Blvd., Cottonwood Heights. View the Cottonwood Heights agenda.

Davis County Commission • Will consider approval of the Davis County Procurement and Disposal of County Property Ordinance, Chapters 2.42 & 2.60; Tuesday, Jan. 22, 10 a.m., Davis County Administrative Office Building, 61 S. Main St., Farmington. View the Davis County agenda.

Midvale Planning Commission • Will consider exterior materials and colors for new Municipal Center at 7510 S. Main St.; Wednesday, Jan. 23, 7 p.m. City Hall, 655 W. Center St., Midvale. View the Midvale agenda.

Murray City Council • will discuss UTOPIA business plan and additional funding in 3:30 p.m. work session, will consider special presentation of Mayor Dan Snarr's final "State of the City" address during 6:30 p.m. regular session; Tuesday, Jan. 22, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m., Council Chambers, City Center at 5025 S. Ogden City Council • Will consider amending payday loan business regulations; Jan. 22, 6 p.m., 3rd floor chambers, Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Blvd., Ogden. View the Ogden agenda.

South Weber City Council • Will consider approving $3,200 for Apple iPads for council member use on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 6 p.m.,1600 E. South Weber Drive, South Weber. View the South Weber agenda.

West Jordan Planning Commission • Will consider preliminary plat for 88-lot Three Forks Subdivision, also a rezone of 14 acres in the Village at Gardner Mill; Jan. 22, 6 p.m., 3rd floor chambers, City Hall, 8000 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan. View the West Jordan agenda.

West Valley City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a request for a General Plan change from mixed use to commercial/light manufacturing and a zone change from C-2 (General Commercial) to M (Manufacturing) for property at 2711, 2717 and 2737 S. Draper City Council • Will hold a public hearing on Jan. 22 at 1020 E. Pioneer Road (12400 South) for Willow Creek Business Park Subdivision Plat amendment and also for a resolution to amend the 2012-13 Budget. View the Draper agenda.

Herriman City Council • Will hold a presentation and public comment Jan. 24 for a newly proposed location for the gun range. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at 13011 S. Pioneer St. View the Herriman agenda.

Sandy City Council • Will reconsider a temporary use ordinance within the city on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at 10000 Centennial Parkway. It will also discuss amending a residential overlay zone modification and also appoint Sandy members to various committees and boards. View the Sandy agenda.
