For the second straight year, the Jazz don't have an All-Star.
The reserves for the Western Conference were announced Thursday night: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Zach Randolph, LaMarcus Aldridge and David Lee.
Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap were left off the 12-man team, meaning the Jazz's last participant in the All-Star Game was Deron Williams in 2011.
Coach Tyrone Corbin was "disappointed" none of his players made this year's All-Star team.
"If you look at the work of Al and Paul and in some ways Gordon [Hayward], they should have been considered," Corbin said. "We've really grown as a team, and their numbers mean something about us having a chance to be successful."
Was Millsap surprised no Jazz player was selected?
"Not really," he said. "I don't think we played our best basketball early in the year nobody on this team. We had spurts. But being consistent being one of those guys I don't think we were like that throughout the whole year."
Season sweep in sight
The Jazz hope to beat the Lakers for the third straight time this season when the teams play Friday night at Staples Center.
"We've done a good job of pushing the ball down the floor against them," Corbin said "We're younger. We should be able to get some easier baskets there. So we try to increase the tempo of the game."
L.A. center Dwight Howard averages 15 points and 12.5 rebounds against Utah.
Teammate Pau Gasol missed one game because of injury and scored only five points on 2-for-9 shooting in the other game.
Said Corbin: "We've done a good job of trying to make sure with Howard and Pau and their size that we smash the middle and pay attention to where those guys are."
Keeping an eye on Bryant
The Lakers' Kobe Bryant has made 27 of 31 free throws against the Jazz.
"He's a great player," Corbin said. "You have to make sure it's not just the guy guarding him. It's the secondary guys also. You have to show him bodies ... when he tries to make moves."
Balanced scoring
In the Jazz's 92-88 win over Washington on Wednesday night, Millsap was Utah's leading scorer, with 16 points.
Five other players reached double figures, however, and Derrick Favors finished with eight points.
"The balanced scoring is who we are," Corbin said. "This group of guys, they try to make the right plays. ...
"When things are going well, everybody gets their hands on the ball and they try to make the right basketball play."
