The Salt Lake Tribune occasionally presents images from its archives and the archives of the Utah State Historical Society in a special series called A Look Back. Today, is a series of political cartoons by Salt Lake artist Alan Lister Lovey, who started drawing cartoons for The Salt Lake Herald when he was only 20 years old. His career was short but very successful. He died at age 30 from pneumonia.
