A Taylorsville man has been charged with child abuse homicide after his 22-month-old son was thrown from the motorcycle they were riding.
Shannon Terrell Moore, 48, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with child abuse homicide, which is a felony that carries a prison sentence of 1 to 15 years. He was also charged with unlawful motorcycle riding, driving on a suspended or revoked license and having a minor not wear protective headgear while on a motorcycle, which are misdemeanors.
On Aug. 5, Moore was riding around the apartment complex at 4536 S. Bridgeside Way where he lives with his son on his lap, and neither of them was wearing a helmet, according to the charges. He'd done it before, and had been told several times that it was dangerous, the charges add.
