Information on the water system • The city will hold open houses to take comments from residents on PCE (perchloroethylene) and the water system 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 6; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12. The meetings will be held in the multipurpose room on the east side of City Hall, 1555 S. 800 West. Visit http://bit.ly/Xqz8Zq for details.

Davis County

Celebrate reading • The Davis School District is inviting the community to join in a one-day Read-A-Thon on Friday, March 1. Participants are encouraged to read for one hour that day and report the number of pages read by emailing Davis Reads Chair Belinda Kuck at bkuck@dsdmail.net. Last year's total was nearly 4.2 million pages.


Bird festival • Online registration for field trips at the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival begins Friday, March 1, at http://bit.ly/OnvcS. Tickets to hear birder Kevin Karlson make the keynote speech at Davis County Legacy Events Center also are available at the website. The annual festival will be held May 16-20.
