Working from home • A hearing on a proposal to establish a Major Home Occupations permit process and allow construction-handyperson and similar uses as home occupations will be held at a meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at City Hall, 5025 S. State St.


Learn about SpyHop • The mission of this nonprofit center is to mentor young people in the digital media arts. Teens can hear representatives talk about who they are, what they do and the hands-on opportunities available in film, radio or music at a workshop from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Holladay Library, 2150 E. Murray-Holladay Road (4730 South).


Keep plastic bags out of the landfill • The city is encouraging residents to recycle plastic bags rather than put them in the trash can. Ace Disposal will take them in its biweekly recycling pickup; bundling them together is preferred.
