Southern Utah University President Michael Benson is a finalist to become president of Eastern Kentucky University.

Benson is scheduled to visit the Richmond campus next week, according to an EKU press release. The other two finalists, administrators from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and the College of Charleston in South Carolina, will visit the campus in early April. No immediate deadline was set for the university to make a selection.

Benson has been president at SUU since 2006; he was previously president of Snow College in Ephraim for five years.
