Salt Lake City police want the public's help in identifying potential victims of an alleged child molester.
Police say that last November, William Patrick Estell, 40, allegedly told detectives he had molested numerous children over a 20-year period. He was then arrested and booked into Salt Lake County Jail, where he remained Monday on nearly $1 million bail.
Court records show the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office has recently filed three first-degree felony counts of forcible sodomy on a child; one first-degree sodomy charge involving a child; four first-degree aggravated sexual abuse of a child counts; and one second-degree felony forcible sexual abuse of a child charge against Estell.
So far, the charges against Estell involve two male victims, a 10-year-old allegedly molested in 2008, and a 14-year-old allegedly molested last August.
Detectives allegedly have identified and interviewed additional victims and continue to look for others.
Salt Lake City police ask that other purported victims of Estell contact detectives at 801-799-3720. Victims also can make contact with investigators anonymously by texting TIPSLCPD with their information to CRIMES (274637).
