Here's what's happening this weekend in pop culture:

• British character actor Richard Griffiths has died at the age of 65. He's best recognized in the States for playing Vernon Dursley, Harry Potter's nasty uncle — but he also had significant roles in "Withnail & I" and "The History Boys" (reprising the stage role that won him a Tony). [The Guardian]

• Reports say Barbara Walters will retire in 2014, ending the 83-year-old TV journalist and personality's trail-blazing career. [CNN International]

• After 25 seasons and lots of arrests, "America's Most Wanted" has been canceled by Lifetime. [Vulture]
