I am concerned about the online comments that follow The Tribune's stories. The nastiness after each story is disheartening. You host a forum for people to display their worst behavior.

For example, the attacks following the story about the LDS Young Women's Conference ("Young LDS women urged to stay away from tattoos, addictions," Tribune, March 31) reminded me of the attacks early Mormons had to endure from their persecutors. So ugly, uneducated and bigoted.

Why provide a forum for these distasteful attacks? Would we endure this insensitivity if the topic were racial?

My personal solution is to stay away from reading the online comments. My suggestion, however, is to shut down the ability to comment on articles.

Let's not allow hatred and negativity to overtake the messages of the reporters.
