Volunteers who wish to participate in the Tour of Utah professional cycling stage race can begin registration Thursday.

About 2,000 volunteers are needed in a variety of roles and locations during race week, which begins Aug. 6. This year, "America's Toughest Stage Race" begins in southern Utah for the first time, traveling from the Stage One overall start in Brian Head to the Stage Six overall finish in Park City.

The volunteer application is available online at the official web site, tourofutah.com.
