I have been listening to all the rhetoric about the West Valley City police. Do people realize how good they are for the taxpayers of our dear city in saving us money:

• We complain about ticket quotas; they stop giving tickets.

• Gas prices go up; they park at a nearby facility and stay off the roads, saving gas and making their cruisers last longer by not adding excess miles.

• Being on duty means being seen. We have all seen them. In fact, I have often seen one police officer sitting for hours in the coffee shop around the corner, keeping the area safe.
