Six small businesses have been selected by the Utah Small Business Development Center network as winners of 2013 awards presented annually to businesses that have helped Utah's economy grow and thrive.

Combined, the six companies honored with Successful Business Awards have created 119 jobs in fitness, beauty supply, food, human resources and health care industries.

The six are:

Denny's Donuts Plus, a traveling food vendor from Price,

Eveready Staffing and Training, a staffing agency in Ogden,

Morning Glory Healing Arts, a therapeutic massage studio in Moab,

Planet Fitness of St. George, a fitness club and gym,

The Family Zone, a therapeutic foot massage studio in Salem, and

Zuri and Co., a purveyor of hair extensions and other beauty products.

The winners availed themselves of advisers and resources made available through the development center network, which operates in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Governor's Office of Economic Development.

Small Business Development Centers operate at Salt Lake Community College and other colleges and universities in the state.
