The new Viridian Event Center and Excellence in the Community will present the "Excellence in the Community Concerts" series at the Viridian Event Center.

The center joins the Gallivan Center in presenting free concerts booked by the Excellence in the Community Foundation, which seeks to provide stages for exclusively local performers.

These free concerts will strive to feature local, high-quality musicians of various styles and genres.

To kick things off, the swing and big band sounds of Caleb Chapman Music will be featured this Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. Chapman's bands will perform at Carnegie Hall next month.

The event center is at 8030 S. 1825 West in West Jordan.
