Here's what's happening today in pop culture:

• There's a new trailer for "Man of Steel," which has more of Russell Crowe's Jor-El, Henry Cavill's Clark Kent, Michael Shannon's General Zod and Amy Adams' Lois Lane. [YouTube]

• Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who produced this year's Oscar telecast, have been hired to produce next year's as well. [The Hollywood Reporter]

• Character actor Richard LeParmentier has died at the age of 66. Though he appeared in such movies as "Octopussy" and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?," LeParmentier is best recognized as Admiral Mott in "Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope" (aka, the original "Star Wars"), the Imperial officer whom Darth Vader started choking because he found Mott's lack of faith in The Force "disturbing."
