Gov. Gary Herbert on Monday appointed Renee Jimenez to fill a vacancy on the 3rd District Juvenile Court bench.
"Renee's extensive experience will provide valuable insight and guidance to struggling youth," Herbert said in a news release. "Her notable expertise in child support and family welfare law will be truly valuable as we work to strengthen and support Utah families."
Since 1991, Jimenez has dedicated her time and efforts on behalf of Utah residents, specifically in the protection of children, the news release says, adding that her role as an attorney and also as a section chief at the Utah State Attorney General's Office, provided her valued experience in child welfare law. During that time, Jimenez was responsible for hundreds of active child support, child abuse and neglect cases.
