The northwestern quarter of the state, from the Great Salt Lake Desert east to Logan, began Wednesday morning under a Hard Freeze Warning. That advisory expired at 9 a.m., though, and the rest of the day and Thursday along the Wasatch Front was warm and golden.
High temperatures on Thursday were to range into the mid-60s for the region, up a few degrees from Wednesday's forecast. Mostly clear, sunny skies were on the climatological menu, too.
Southern Utahns were slathering on the sun block and donning shorts as highs topped 80 degrees in forecasts for both Wednesday and Thursday under partly cloudy skies.
The Utah Division of Air Quality hoisted its "Green," or healthy breathing pennants statewide.
Salt Lake City's high on Thursday was to be 64 degrees, up from the 59 forecast for Wednesday; Ogden 63 and 58; Provo 66 and 61; Logan 63 and 58; Wendover 68 and 58; Duchesne 64 and 56; Cedar City 68 and 65; St. George 83 and 80; and Moab 72 and 64 degrees.
