Amann has a nearly 100 percent conviction rate against those who use the Internet to lure children for sexual purposes, or produce and trade child pornography.
"Paul Amann is known as 'Buzzsaw' for his ability to cut through all the garbage and focus on the horrific harms being committed against children," stated Attorney General John Swallow. "Paul deserves this honor. He has worked tirelessly to protect children for the past ten years."
Prevent Child Abuse Utah is a non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of child abuse through education and training. The agency gives the award each year to a "hero" dedicated to making the difference in the life of a child.
"Paul is a skilled prosecutor and a fierce advocate for children," said Children's Justice Division Chief Craig Barlow. "This award reflects a career dedicated to protecting our most vulnerable treasure."
