Clancy Shields and Sean McInerney have been named head men's and women's tennis coaches, respectively, at Utah State. Shields replaces Christian Wright who was terminated from his position last fall. McInerney replaces Christian Wright who was fired last fall.

"We are excited to have Sean on board. His success as a Division I head coach speaks for itself," said USU athletic director Barnes. "His infectious enthusiasm and experience in turning around the UW-Milwaukee program will be a tremendous asset to our women's tennis program."

McInerney has spent the past four years as the head women's tennis coach at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee earning Horizon League Coach of the Year honors the past two seasons as he led the Panthers to back-to-back third-place conference finishes and its best two-year league win total in school history with 10 victories.

Shields has spent the last four seasons as an assistant men's tennis coach at Boise State University, helping the Broncos to back-to-back Mountain West Championships in 2012 and 2013. The Broncos, who are currently 20-9 on the season (8-1 MW), advanced to its third NCAA Tournament with Shields on staff this spring.
