Buy a plant, help a kid • The YMCA is holding a plant sale from 4 to 6 p.m. today at its Community Family Center, 4223 Atherton Drive. Proceeds will benefit the Give A Kid A Chance Campaign, which helps cover the cost of children's participation in YMCA programs.

Join the parade • The WestFest Committee is asking for entries in its annual parade, being held on June 22 this year. The committee is looking for neighborhood groups, Scout troops, church groups, dance teams, drill teams, school bands, theater groups and other organizations to participate. The deadline to register is June 17. Visit www.westfest.org for more information and for an application.
