Investigators Tuesday were leaning toward the cause of a weekend fire near the Club Exposé as being human and accidental.
Salt Lake City fire spokesman Jasen Asay also said the Sunday night blaze was not in the club itself, as earlier reported, but in one of two vacant buildings adjacent to it. Crews were able to keep flames away from the actual club space itself, he said Tuesday.
"The cause of the fire is still under investigation, however we believe it was human-caused because of the fact that the power and gas to the vacant building had been cut off prior to the fire. It appears, as of now, to be accidental," Asay said.
