Unified Police are asking the public's help in locating a 69-year-old Millcreek area man with Alzheimer's disease, who has been missing since 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Derald Nielson, who lives near 1350 East and 3600 South, was last seen by a neighbor walking his dog.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the dog returned home without Nielson.

Nielson's wife went to check on him at noon and he was not at home. She called UPD at about 3:00 p.m.

Nielson is described as Caucasian who is 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes,

He was wearing a grey cardigan, grey pants and a blue polo shirt.

Nielson does not have a cell phone, money or identification on him.

He has been missing before and has been known to travel throughout Salt Lake County.

The UPD has been searching the area extensively, but is now hoping the public can help locate Nielson.
