Crunching numbers • Elected officials and staff members will be available to talk about the tentative fiscal 2014 budget at an open house from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd. (5325 South).

Learning about the past • The Taylorsville Historic Preservation Committee has been awarded a 2013 Heritage Award from the Utah Heritage Foundation. The nine-member committee was honored for getting the community involved in heritage education.


Catch a flick • Teens and tweens 11 and older are invited to watch the movie "Jack Reacher" from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the library, 2675 S. 8950 West. Bring your own pillows and snacks.
